2nd long run
So, today I ran my second long run enroute to training for a 25k held at the end of March. I ran a little over 8 miles today. I wish I could figure out why I run long distances at about the same pace as I run a 5k. I may add a little speedwork into the training, hopefully it will help. My goal for the 25k is to run a faster pace than my 50+ year old boss, who will be running the same race, but he is manlier than I, and will be running the 50 miler. I only wish I had the stamina to run that far. Maybe, by the time I am fifty I will have that much endurance.

Just to keep it going!!
Well, I took today off of work, so my wife and I could get things in order for the holidays. After working around the house all day I realized I had no ran yet, so I laced up the NB, and eeked out a whopping mile. It isn't much, but my ankles are starting to complain because I have not ran 4 days straight for quite a while. Hopefully, they will get used to the action. I figure my rest days have to be 1-2 miles, since I am not taking any days off. Hopefully tomorrow my ankles will be ready for a real run.

2 Mile Fart!
Today was a 2-mile fartlek. For those of you that don't run, I did not mean to say fart leek, although some days it would be a more appropriate term. Fartlek is a swedish word for "speed play." What a runner does is add a few highspeed bursts into a run. The purpose of this is to get your body and muscles used to running at higher rates of speed, which in time will increase your overall pace, and as my posting name implies, I could use the increase in speed.

beautiful november day
Today I resorted to my traditional path. Usually I run at least a 10k on Saturdays, but today I figured I better save my legs, since I am not used to running daily. I don't know how long my streak of consecutive days will go, but I am now sitting at two strong.

Running for a bagel!
I laced up my 1223's this morning with the intent of running my proverbial out-n-back, which could range anywhere from 3.1 to 6.5 miles. However, my 8 weeks pregnant wife had a different idea altogether, which involved locating a sumptuous cream cheese covered breaded sphere. I have a feeling this may become a common theme in my life for the next seven months... So, my route today was redirected toward the local Einstein's. I had never explored this path on foot, therefore, I needed my trusty Garmin to map the distance, just in case I wish to travel this path again. Upon arrival, the staff gave me precarious looks, given that my glasses were fogging from the vast change in temperature.... After paying, I Subsequently clutched the purpose of my trip and began the jaunt back to my baby-makin "momma", as Coly Kai would say. So, my friends, I will part with the expectation that this will likely be the first of many future posts where my running revolves around locating a spontaneuos craving.
